What Are The Requirements?

Donors of all ethnic and spiritual backgrounds are encouraged to apply to our program, however, the following minimum criteria applies.

The ideal candidate:

• is between the ages of twenty and thirty-two
• is in excellent health and within twenty pounds of her ideal body weight
• has an excellent family medical history, free of inheritable genetic disorders
• does not smoke or use drugs
• has regular, monthly menstrual periods
• is not using contraceptive implants or Depo-Provera injections as a form of birth control
• has not been diagnosed or treated for any sexually transmitted disease (STD) in the past twelve months
• can attend approximately 6-8 short medical office visits and one four-hour medical office visit over a 4-6 week period.
